Ryan, Meredith, Shamus & Ainslee are great friends! We spend a lot of time together and I love the impromptu dinners we often have. They came out to Sylvan for a weekend and then one hot day at home the kids had a blast on the slip-n-slide. Its great having them next door!

Best Day Ever!
Julia's favourite expression all summer has been "BEST.DAY.EVER!" She would say it whenever she was having fun or playing in the water! This day was a pretty great one with just the 4 of us on one of Pat's days off! We first took the kids to the CPS helicopter hanger and got a private tour of it. They were in heaven, especially Ben who was running all over the place, crawling under and into the helicopter! Then they took off while the kids watched. So much fun!
It was a wonderful family day and exhausting for all but maybe one guy more than the rest! I transferred him from the stroller to the car seat to his crib and he didn't really wake up!
We then went to Heritage Park, I never realized how many fun things there are to do there. We went on a boat ride in the Glenmore Reservoir, a train ride and then went on the mini carnival rides. Unfortunately Ben was too small for many of them but Julia had a blast on the Ferris wheel and spinning cars and the candy shop! We all went on the carousel and the caterpillar which scared the crap out of Ben!

Bikes & Balloons
Our summer place in Sylvan Lake celebrated being open for 25 years this summer. The social committee organized a pancake breakfast, bike parade and ice cream sundae bar for the kids. They had so much fun decorating their bikes (so did us parents!) and had a blast in the parade. Sydney won for best decorated bike (it really was, thanks to her mom & dad!) and Julia ended up on the cover of the Sylvan Lake newspaper!
