Pat loves to make these videos using iMovie...if you don't have a Mac, you really should get one, they are they greatest thing! We are so lucky and blessed with Julia, she is a happy, happy girl and brings us so much joy! She learns things so quickly now and I love hearing her little voice try out all her new words! Her latest one is THANK YOU, sounds like "ANK Oooou", she's such a polite little lady! She chatters all day long and loves playing and reading her "bas" or "boos" (books). She has also figured out how to say cookie and asks for one every 5 minutes or goes and bangs on the cupboard door. She figures out pretty quickly where the cookies live in every new house she's in!!

Julia's First Birthday!
On September 10, family and friends joined us in Sylvan Lake for Julia's Birthday Party! It was a beautiful, hot fall day and we were so grateful that everyone was willing to drive to the lake! Click on the link below to see the pictures!

Julia's First Steps! September 7, 2011
Our Baby Girl took her first steps today! She's been pushing herself off the floor for weeks and then just standing there, maybe she just needed to be naked!!! I was in the process of changing her, when she tinkled on the floor, so I went to clean it up and she really wanted to play with the lysol spray!!! Julia took 2 steps, fell down, got up and took these steps that I managed to capture! So exciting!!!
I also love that she took her first steps with her favorite toy, her Kitty!

Summer Days with lots of Play!
June and July were busy months for our Girly! She learned a ton in such a short amount of time: sitting up on her own, crawling, waving, giving kisses (open mouthed...we got to work on that!), she's talking (Hi and Uh-Oh were her first words) and nows pulls herself up on everything! My little girl is just so smart!
We have had so much fun so far this summer! We have spent lots of time in Sylvan Lake, gone for bike rides, went to the Stampede and have lots of time with friends, usually playing in the water! Julia is turning into a little water baby and no matter how cold the water is, she doesn't seem to care!
We celebrated with Finn on his 1st Birthday last week and had a wonderful playdate with Ella and Melissa today! Its so amazing to see Julia actually playing with other kids now, rather than just sitting there staring at them! The kids follow each other around attempting to "share" toys and copy what the other is doing! Julia loves playing with other kids and thinks they are so funny! I should have the video camera out 24 hours a day to capture these precious moments!
Here is a link to some of our summer fun...more to come!

Julia's Baptism
Julia was Baptized at Bethel Lutheran on May 29, 2011. We were married in this church and Pastor Matt is a wonderful and caring man, we are so grateful he was able to christen Julia for us.
Julia's dress was made by my mom using her wedding dress, its such a beautiful, meaningful heirloom.
Her face is priceless!
A nice picture with most of our favorite little people...Owen was sleeping!
Great Graggy Hardie and Great Auntie Catherine were visiting from Scotland!
My Godmother Karen and her daughter Lindsey, who is my Goddaughter and is now Julia's Godmother!

I don't want to grow up
I don't want Julia to grow up, okay I do, but I can't believe how fast she is growing. I love every little phase of her life and how happy our little girl is. We were at the San Diego Zoo yesterday and she is just soaking it all in and was so good since she didn't get a nap at all. Then we got to the monkeys and she thought they were hilarious swinging from tree to tree. It was a priceless moment, she couldn't get enough. I tried getting a video of it but the video camera became more of a distraction. My parents think its funny how much Julia smiles and laughs since the first couple months of her life she did a lot of frowning...its not her fault she has really expressive eyebrows!
Julia has mastered her impression of a Lion because she does a killer roar that usually gets a lot of attention from her parents and grandparents and we think she is also working on her impression of an Elephant because she makes this funny noise that sort of sounds like a trumpet mixed with the noise you get when give someone a raspberry. Finn Brenan visited us a couple weeks ago and he was very good at the "raspberry" so I think Julia learned it from him!
Side note: Why is blowing on a tummy called a raspberry?
California pictures soon!

Family, Friends & Food in February
February (and the start of March) were so busy, I have no idea where all the time has gone. We have had so many activities, visitors and playdates. Julia loves watching all the activity around her, she really seems to enjoy having people around.
I cannot believe our baby girl is 6 months old this week and has started solid foods! She loves the spoon and so far anything I put on it, I just wish there was one resource that told me the best way to introduce food to her, there is way too much contradicting info out there. We started her on rice cereal then added apples and bananas a couple days apart, we then realized our darling little girl had stopped pooping for over a week! I have never talked to much about poop than I have in the last month and plan on limiting my poo talk once this post is complete! However I did learn that "10 a day or 1 in 10 days" is totally normal but still 1 in days days seems so wrong!
I was given a great website (www.wholesomebabyfood.com) that I think I will make my baby food bible and try to limit any other info so my brain won't explode. I thought introducing solids would be so much fun but it has definitely caused a lot of stress. Anyway we took a little food break but now we're back on track and she loves gobbling it up.....and pooping!!!
I have added some pictures to the link on the right side under "Julia pictures"...don't worry there is no poo in any of them!

Our little blog
We have so many family members and friends who live far away and we thought this would be a great way for everyone to be able to watch Julia grow. Check out the right side of the screen under the Julia heading for pictures and videos of her!
I will try my best to post often but I know that my blog will never be as entertaining as Sarra's!
